Safety and trust

A calm way to let someone in.

Gen GiggZ is not in the stores yet. This page is the plain-language version of how a job is meant to stay safe when it launches. Where something is still a plan, it says Planned.

Phone and OTP sign-in

You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code. That code is the key for that moment. It is not a password you are asked to reuse or store.

The account is the phone number you proved you hold. That is the start of trust, not the whole of it.

Identity verificationPlanned

Knowing that a phone is real is not the same as knowing who is holding it. Identity verification is part of how Gen GiggZ is meant to work before a person is sent to a home.

The planned path is DigiLocker, and a Work Passport, so someone can confirm who they are without photographing an identity document into a chat. Those connections are not switched on. Until they are, this site will not say that workers are DigiLocker-verified.

Personal details stay masked

Phone numbers, and other personal details that are not needed to do the job, are masked between users. A hirer should not have to give a stranger a number to get a room cleaned. A worker should not have to give one to get paid.

What the other person needs — the task, the place, the time, the messages about that job — is what the product is built to show.

In-app chat, watched for abuse

Conversation about a job happens in the app. That keeps it off a personal SMS thread that then lives on someone’s phone.

Messages can be reviewed for abuse. That is a safety control, and it is also a privacy fact: a person at Gen GiggZ, or a tool acting for safety, may see a conversation when there is a reason to. The draft privacy notice says this in the same plain way.

Job-start code and location

When the worker arrives, a one-time code confirms that this is the job you both agreed, and that it has started. It is a handoff between two people who have not met.

Location sharing is only for an active job, so you can meet at the address. It is not a trace of the rest of the day. When the job ends, that sharing ends.

Permission checks on the server

Every request the app makes is checked on the server. If you are not allowed to see a job, a chat, a payment, or a location, the server refuses the request.

A button that is hidden on the phone is not security. The phone can be altered. The check that matters is the one the server repeats.

Payments and withdrawals

Hirers pay in the app. Workers withdraw in the app. Moving a job onto a personal number, or a personal transfer, drops the masking, the start code, and the record of what was agreed.

Card and bank secrets are for the payment partner to handle. Gen GiggZ is not a bank. Any fee, and when a withdrawal arrives, will be shown before you confirm. We have not published those figures because they are not final.

This page is a product summary, not a security audit and not the legal notice. The draft privacy notice describes the personal data. Both are waiting on legal review, and on a registered entity that does not exist yet.
