Launching in Bengaluru

Short jobs, close to home.

Gen GiggZ connects people who need a hand with people ready to do the work. One app. Work mode or Hire mode. Built for neighbourhood jobs in Bengaluru, not a map of the whole city.

Illustrative screens. The app is not in the stores yet.

Designed around Bengaluru neighbourhoods such as Jayanagar, Indiranagar, Malleswaram, HSR Layout, Whitefield, and Koramangala. That is a design choice, not a promise that every lane is live on day one.

01 — How it works

One app. Two ways through the day.

You can work, hire, or both. The mode is a switch, not a second account.

Work

Find a job nearby

  1. 1

    Sign in with your phone

A one-time code. No password to lose.

  2. 2

Say what you do, and where

The work you will take, and how far you will go.

  3. 3

Accept a job that is close

You see the task, the place, and the rate before you say yes.

  4. 4

    Start with a code

You and the hirer confirm the start. Pay happens in the app.

For workers

Hire

Bring someone to the job

  1. 1

    Switch to Hire

The same account. A different mode.

  2. 2

    Describe the job

What you need, where, and when.

  3. 3

    Choose a person nearby

Someone who can actually reach the address for that job.

  4. 4

    Share a start code

The visit begins when you both confirm. You pay in the app.

For hirers

02 — Categories

The jobs a neighbourhood already has.

Delivery
Parcels and small drops, from one lane to the next.
Cleaning
A flat, a move-out, or the morning after a gathering.
AC & appliances
Service and repair at the address, not across the city.
Home cook
A meal, a day, or a pot that is already on.
Loading & moving
Hands for the heavy hour, including the stairs.
Events
Setup, service, and packing a room back to itself.

Electricians, plumbers, errands, and the other short jobs a neighbourhood runs on sit alongside these.

03 — Trust

Built for a stranger at the door.

A short job in someone’s home needs plain rules. This is the shape of them. DigiLocker and a Work Passport are planned, and marked that way on the safety page.

  1. 01

    Phone and a one-time code

That is the sign-in. No password sitting in a notes app.

  2. 02

    Numbers stay masked

Personal details such as phone numbers are not handed from one user to the other. Chat stays in the app, and it is monitored for abuse.

  3. 03

    A start code, then location

The job starts when both people confirm with a one-time code. Location is shared only while that job is active.

  4. 04

    Checked on the server

Every request is allowed or refused on the server. Hiding a button on the phone is not the security.

04 — Payments

The rate is on the job before anyone accepts it.

If you work

You see the rate before you accept. After the job, withdrawals happen in the app. Any fee, and how long the money takes to arrive, is shown before you confirm. This site will not invent a daily earning.

If you hire

You pay in the app. You are not asked to share a phone number, or to move the money outside, where the masking and the start code cannot follow it.

05 — Questions

Before you download.

Is Gen GiggZ in the app stores?

Not yet. It is being prepared for iOS and Android. Leave an email and we will write when the listings are up. Until then the store badges on this site stay on Coming soon.

Where is it launching?

Bengaluru first. The product is designed around neighbourhood jobs — a flat, a shop, a lane — rather than a city-wide map. We will not pretend every neighbourhood is live on day one.

Can one person both work and hire?

Yes. You can be a worker, a hirer, or both. Work and Hire are modes in the same account. You switch when the day changes.

Will the other person see my phone number?

No. Personal details such as phone numbers are masked between users. You talk in the app, not by handing a number to a stranger.

What is the job-start code?

When the worker arrives, a one-time code confirms that this is the job you both agreed to, and that it has started. It is a handoff, not a password you reuse.

When is my location shared?

Only during an active job, so the two people can meet at the address. It is not a background trail of the rest of your day. When the job ends, sharing ends.

How do payments work?

You pay, and workers withdraw, inside the app. Any fee, and how long a withdrawal takes, will be shown before you confirm. This site does not publish a rate card ahead of the product.

Is DigiLocker already connected?

No. Identity verification is part of the trust model. DigiLocker and a Work Passport are planned, so people can confirm who they are without sending documents into a chat. They are not switched on.

Who can join?

Adults. Gen GiggZ is not for anyone under 18. The draft terms say the same thing, and they are still pending legal review.
